Turlock Christian School – Turlock, Bay Area

The Turlock Christian School is a private school in Turlock, California that was founded in 1969. The school is currently attended by around 720 students from kindergarten to 12th grade. The students are taught here at a very good level and can choose from a variety of AP courses, i.e. courses at the highest level, which should prepare the students well for the university. Furthermore, the school has focused on the natural sciences and technology, which are supported by many different and interesting courses, clubs and projects.

University of Southern California (USC)
The oldest private university in Southern California was founded in 1880 and today trains around 32,000 students. The University of Southern California is a member of the Association of American Universities, an association of research-intensive North American universities. The main campus of the university invites you to linger and you can admire many historic buildings in Romanesque style. Since the university is in close proximity to Hollywood, it has appeared in many films such as Forrest Gump, Ghostbusters – Die Geisterjäger, Naturally Blond, Die Reifeprüfung, Road Trip and The Social Network. Stanford University
The famous Stanford University was founded in 1891 as a private university. It is located in the Bay Area, 60 km south of San Francisco. Stanford University is considered an elite university, especially in the fields of engineering, IT and medicine, and is one of the most famous universities in the world. Stanford University has a branch at the Free University in Berlin. Around 15,000 students study at the following faculties:

University of California

The University of California is a state university that extends over several locations and has a total of 192,000 students. Important locations are:

    The Berkeley site is the oldest campus of the University of California. The campus is located in Berkeley on the east bank of San Francisco Bay. The university was founded in 1868 as the University of California.
  • University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC)
    This location is located northwest of the northern California city of Santa Cruz and was founded in 1965.
  • University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in La Jolla, a suburb of San Diego
    This location was founded in 1960 and maintains numerous well-known research institutes, e.g. Scripps Institution of Oceanography or San Diego Supercomputer Center.
  • University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)
    The Los Angeles campus is the second oldest campus of the University of California and was founded in 1919. Located in Westwood Village in Los Angeles since 1927, the Anderson School of Management, one of the most famous business schools in the United States, has been part of this campus.

California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena

The California Institute of Technology, or Caltech for short, was founded in 1891 and is now a very small but highly renowned university. The university has acquired a special reputation in the fields of natural sciences and engineering. Caltech graduates won a total of 31 Nobel Prizes. California State University (CSU)
California State University is a state university. It was created in 1972 through the amalgamation of many smaller universities. California State University thus has numerous locations and a total of an incredible 415,000 students who are aiming for one of the 1,800 different degrees.

Salk Institute for Biological Studies

The Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, San Diego, is a well-known research facility where the best researchers work and live together. The institute was founded in 1960. The Salk Institute is primarily devoted to molecular biology, neuroscience and plant biology and is considered the world leader.
