How to Make a Bicycle Cart

When the fall season, the days become short and more gloomy, so boredom comes forward: a wonderful work of crafts that you can make at this time of year is the bike cart and what is the procedure correctly, you learn well in subsequent steps in this practice and quick guide.

How to Make a Bicycle Cart

If you are at home and not necessarily have anything to do, you would have the opportunity to choose to extend the roof rack of your bike that you do not use more: this will be possible by obtaining a carriage (found abandoned at some roadside) and joining it to the bicycle itself.
To make a journey with a bicycle, you do not need to own one, but just a simple accessory, which is a small cart: attached directly to the rear wheel hub, it allows you to carry up to “40 kg”, using a quick release system.
On each occasion and with any type of bike (MTB, scassona from town or the special carbon), therefore, the feeling of driving will be of absolute neutrality, to such an extent that, during a descent, it is normal to turn around several times, in order to observe if that thing is still back there: of course, the burden will be felt in the climbs.
Next, you must remove the front brake that doesn’t work anymore, the corresponding wheel to it, the gear and the rear brake: now, remove the handlebars of the trolley (removing the screws with special Hex of the exact form or a simple clamp) and replace it with that of your bicycle.
After that, you will need to replace both rear brake that the change to the new handlebar, assemble again the latter on cart with an ordinary clamp and clamp the fork to buggy with some string or plastic strap (which allows the bike to move quite freely and adapt to the irregularities of the road).
With a little more imagination and technique, you can also secure the carriage in another way, prolungandolo perhaps with additional pieces of metal and using a little bit of “art saldatoria”: so you can indulge with unusual solutions to the problem of stability.
Now, the cart bike is finally finished and ready to run a functional test: although quite convenient and very practical, it will be preferable not to achieve considerable speed and tackling tight corners with the appropriate caution.
