Google Now Makes Searching in Your Neighborhood

A new feature announced by Google promises to leave the hair of paranoids completely standing card-carrying within their hats made โ€‹โ€‹of aluminum foil.

From now on the web giant is able to perform searches from the geographical location of the seafarer, which although it can be set manually by default is automatically identified from the computer IP where the search is being carried out – not much different than the company already makes countries, for example.
The difference is that on one hand the mechanism will offer results (and ads) more precise, on the other it also happens to be able to track their users, making the new feature to work as a “mandatory Latitude” kind of.
Anyway, for now the feature is only available for the US.
